Always stay online and prevent data loss
When a power outage occurs, APC Smart-UPS immediately provides backup power to all connected devices. Because the APC UPS does this automatically, you prevent undesired outages, such as to a PC, server or switch. With the free APC PowerChute software you can even automatically and remotely shut down critical IT equipment when the UPS battery is almost empty. This prevents data loss, downtime and physical damage to equipment.
Safety
Additionally, Smart-UPS protects connected devices against voltage surges caused, among other things, by lightning. This backup power supply is well suited for (small) business use.
SmartConnect
Out-of-the-box remote UPS monitoring, free for a 6-month trial. Using the Ethernet SmartConnect port, you can easily connect the Smart-UPS to your network and remotely monitor it through the cloud-based APC SmartConnect portal*. Additionally the UPS can always be monitored via this port using EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI).

PowerChute
By connecting the UPS via USB to a maximum of one server, it can automatically provide it with a shutdown signal during a prolonged power outage, thereby preventing a hard shutdown. This exact moment can be configured with the free APC PowerChute Serial Edition.
Network Management Card
If you connect the UPS directly to your network using the optional APC Network Management Card (AP9640/AP9641), it can be easily managed remotely via SNMP or our remote management software EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI). You can also automatically send a shutdown signal over the network to multiple physical and/or virtual servers. With the APC PowerChute Network Shutdown software, which is included with the network card, it is even possible to differentiate the shutdown moment and the order of this process.
Ease of use
Using the physical buttons and the LCD display you can set and read basic functions. With the included 4-post rail kit, you can easily mount the UPS in a rack.
Life extension
The internal battery cartridge (APCRBC132) can be easily, safely and independently replaced by the user. This can be done without powering off the APC SMT1000RMI2UC or connected equipment. In this way you can easily and cost-effectively extend the life of the APC Smart-UPS, and your equipment stays online.
Warranty extension
The SMT1000RMI2UC factory warranty is 3 years, except for the battery cartridge, which has a factory warranty of 2 years. Both warranty periods can be extended by 3 years to 6 and 5 years respectively with the APC service pack (WBEXTWAR3YR-SP-03).
Switched outlet groups: Remote reboot and staggered startup
Switched outlet groups allow configuring zoned/delayed power-on for each UPS outlet group. This reduces peak UPS load and brings it closer to a steady load, which can limit UPS oversizing.
It is also possible to reset a group of multiple UPS outputs and the equipment connected to them. If SmartConnect Advanced (ERWPLUS1-1Y-DIGI) is used, a UPS with a SmartConnect port + EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI) or a network card (AP9640) in combination with EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI) you can even do this remotely.
This APC Smart-UPS is designed for IT professionals or network administrators to maintain business continuity and uptime. A 1000 VA line-interactive UPS delivers a clean sine wave to support critical electronics during power disturbances. It features IEC 320 C14 input, 4x IEC 320 C13 outlets and 2x IEC jumper cables. It offers remote power monitoring in the cloud, UPS software updates, remote diagnostics and proactive e-mail notifications with recommended actions. It has a SmartSlot for an optional network management card that enables controlled shutdown of physical servers, virtual machines and HCI clusters via PowerChute Network Shutdown. The UPS can be connected to EcoStruxure IT or third-party management platforms. It provides protection against voltage spikes, sags, brownouts and overvoltages. The SMT UPS has a 3-year warranty, and the built-in lead-acid battery has a 2-year warranty. It is compatible with user-replaceable battery cartridges, and the APC replaceable cartridge helps restore UPS performance to its original specifications.
