This makes the IGS-5225-8P2T2S highly resistant to electromagnetic interference and strong electrical surges typically found in manufacturing floors or control panels near roadways.
Capable of operating in a wide temperature range from -40 to 75 degrees Celsius, the IGS-5225-8P2T2S can be placed in nearly any challenging location. The device also supports DIN-rail or wall mounting to maximize cabinet space utilization.
Redundant ring, fast recovery for critical network applications
The IGS-5225-8P2T2S supports ring redundancy and offers strong, rapid autonomous recovery to prevent downtime and external intrusions. It incorporates advanced ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching), MSTP (802.1s), and a redundant power system for industrial automation networks to enhance system reliability and availability in harsh factory conditions. In a simple ring network, data-path recovery can be as fast as 20 ms.
High PoE power for security and public service applications
To meet the demand for high PoE power in Gigabit-grade networks across a wide temperature range, the IGS-5225-8P2T2S provides 8x 10/100/1000 Mbps ports with IEEE 802.3at PoE+ support, delivering up to 36 W of power and data per port over a single Ethernet Cat5E/6 cable. With a total PoE budget of 240 W, this switch is designed to meet the growing needs of high-power PD devices such as multi-channel wireless access points, PTZ/SPEEDDOME network cameras, and other PoE devices, effectively doubling the typical 802.3af PoE standard.
Convenient and intelligent ONVIF devices with detection
PLANET has developed ONVIF support—a feature designed to work seamlessly with IP video surveillance devices. From the IGS-5225-8P2T2S GUI it takes just one click to discover and display all ONVIF devices via the network application. It can also push floor images to the switch and monitor or remotely control the production line. Real-time surveillance information and online/offline status are available; PoE restart can be controlled from the GUI.
Smart activity monitoring for powered devices
The IGS-5225-8P2T2S PoE switch can be configured to monitor the status of connected PDs in real time via a ping action. If a PD stops working and responding, the switch will reset PoE power on the corresponding port and restore the PD to operation. This greatly improves reliability by resetting PD power, reducing administrator workload.
PoE scheduling for energy savings

It supports 802.1Q VLAN tagging with up to 255 VLAN groups. With port-channel aggregation, it enables high-speed trunks across multiple ports and supports up to 6 trunk groups with 4 ports per group and also supports failover.

For efficient management, the IGS-5225-8P2T2S includes console, Web, and SNMP management interfaces. The Web-based management interface provides an easy-to-use, platform-independent device for administration and configuration. For text-based management, the IGS-5225-8P2T2S is accessible via Telnet and the console port. It also offers secure remote management via any standard management software, supporting SNMPv3 to encrypt packet contents on every session.
Powerful security
The IGS-5225-8P2T2S delivers a comprehensive access control list (ACL) from Layer 2 to Layer 4 to enforce edge security. It can be used to restrict network access by dropping packets based on source/destination IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports or defined common network applications. Its protection framework includes port-based authentication (802.1x) for users and devices and MAC authentication. Private VLAN helps prevent inter-port communication to ensure user privacy. Network administrators can now build highly secure corporate networks with much less time and effort than before.
Modbus TCP provides flexible factory automation networking

Four additional built-in mini-GBIC slots support dual-speed 100BASE-FX and 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP fiber modules, allowing administrators to flexibly select the appropriate SFP transceivers based on distance and required speeds. Distances can be extended from 550 meters (multimode fiber) to 10/50/70/120 kilometers (single-mode or WDM fiber). They are well-suited for data centers and distribution cabinets.
