LONGSPAN Camera Unit: long-range PoE powered from the base unit. Working together, LONGSPAN base units and cameras deliver unprecedented power and bandwidth over extreme lengths of standard Cat 5e or Cat 6 network cable, enabling reliable connections to IP cameras and other remote network devices. IP cameras may require peak network bandwidth many times their average data rate when transmitting critical high-activity or low-light scenes. Therefore, LONGSPAN is designed to support the full 200 Mbps bandwidth required for reliable 100Base-T Ethernet over distances up to 840 meters for Cat 6 cable (or 690 meters for Cat 5e cable).
- As a point-to-point solution without intermediate devices in the cable and with intelligent, automatic self-configuration, installation is simple and immediate.
- LONGSPAN supports even single UTP cables, providing a quick upgrade solution for traditional analog systems.
- For longer distances, LONGSPAN can automatically negotiate a 10Base-T connection, supporting ranges over 1000 meters and more than ten times the conventional Ethernet cable limit.
