Always Online and Data Loss Prevention
Upon power failure, the APC Smart-UPS instantly provides emergency power to all connected devices. This automatic response prevents unwanted shutdowns of critical equipment such as computers, servers, or switches. With the free APC PowerChute software, you can even automatically and safely shut down critical IT equipment when the UPS battery is nearly depleted, preventing data loss, downtime, and hardware damage.
Safety
Additionally, the Smart-UPS protects connected devices from voltage surges caused by events such as lightning strikes. This APC emergency power supply is ideal for use in (small) businesses.
Battery Runtime
The expected battery runtime can be easily viewed in the runtime chart located between the product images. This allows you to quickly see how long the UPS can provide emergency power at a given load.
SmartConnect
Out-of-the-box remote UPS monitoring free for a 6-month trial period. Using the SmartConnect Ethernet port, you can easily connect the Smart-UPS to your network and monitor it remotely via the secure cloud-based APC SmartConnect web portal*. Additionally, the UPS can always be monitored through this port using EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI).

PowerChute
By connecting the UPS to up to one server via USB cable, it can automatically send a shutdown signal during prolonged power outages, preventing hard shutdowns. The exact timing can be configured using the free APC PowerChute Serial Edition software.
Network Management Card
By connecting the UPS directly to your network with the optional APC Network Management Card (AP9640/AP9641), you can easily manage it remotely via SNMP or our EcoStruxure IT Expert remote management software (SFTWES1-DIGI). You can also automatically send shutdown signals over the network to multiple physical and/or virtual servers. With the associated network card software APC PowerChute Network Shutdown, you can even specify shutdown timing and sequence.
Ease of Use
Physical buttons and an LCD screen allow easy configuration and reading of basic functions. The included 4-post rail kit enables straightforward rack installation.
Extended Service Life
The internal battery cartridge (APCRBC133) can be easily, safely, and user-replaceable without shutting down the APC SMT1500RMI2UC or connected devices. This allows for cost-effective extension of the Smart-UPS lifespan, keeping your equipment online.


Switched Outlet Groups: Remote Power On and Sequenced Startup
Switched Outlet Groups enable phased/delayed power-on configuration for each UPS outlet group. This reduces peak load on the UPS, bringing it closer to a steady load and minimizing UPS oversizing. It is also possible to reset groups of UPS outlets and connected devices. When using SmartConnect Advanced (ERWPLUS1-1Y-DIGI), UPS with SmartConnect port + EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI), or a network card (AP9640) combined with EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI), this can even be done remotely.
