These switches are designed for 1G AV over IP with PoE+, featuring Ultra90 PoE++ ports and rear-facing connectors for seamless integration into AV racks. The M4250 switches come pre-configured for standard audio and video signals. For more specific requirements, the AV user interface offers customization with port-based profiles. Audio profiles include Dante, Q-SYS, and AES67, as well as an AVB profile available via a separately sold AVB license. For video, M4250 supports profiles for NVX, SVSI, Q-SYS, NDI, Dante, and mixed audio/video/control profiles. When multiple switches are interconnected, NETGEAR IGMP Plus provides automation for simple daisy-chaining.
M4250 Support for Audio Video Bridging (AVB)
A key feature of the new M4250 product line is full support for Audio Video Bridging (AVB), an industry standard for network content transport. AVB is commonly used when ultra-low latency is required, such as in live performances where lip-sync accuracy is critical. All AV Line M4250 switches can optionally be licensed for AVB support.
