The PLANET SGS-6341-16S8C4XR is a Layer 3 managed gigabit switch delivering high-density performance, static Layer 3 routing, RIP (Routing Information Protocol), and OSPF (Open Shortest Path First) with 10Gbps uplinks and multiple SFP fiber interfaces housed in a robust, durable chassis. Administrators can flexibly select appropriate SFP/SFP+ transceivers based on required transmission distance or speed to efficiently extend 10G networks. Additionally, with a 128Gbps fabric switching capacity, the SGS-6341-16S8C4XR can handle massive data volumes securely, connecting to backbones or high-capacity servers for ISPs, VoIP services, video streaming, and multicast applications.
High-Performance 10Gbps Ethernet
The SGS-6341 series includes four built-in SFP+ slots supporting dual-speed 10GBASE-SR/LR or 1000BASE-SX/LX. Featuring 10Gbps uplink interfaces, the SGS-6341 series boasts a high-performance switch architecture capable of providing non-blocking fabric switching and up to 128Gbps bandwidth, greatly simplifying LAN upgrades to meet increasing bandwidth demands.
Redundant AC and DC Power for Continuous Operation
The SGS-6341-16S8C4XR is equipped with a 100~240V AC power supply and an additional 12V DC power input for redundancy. IP Stacking Management
The SGS-6341 series supports IP stacking, enabling network managers to configure up to 24 switches of the same series using a single IP address instead of configuring each device individually. High-Reliability Hardware Stacking
Two of the 10G SFP+ ports are used to interconnect multiple SGS-6341 series switches, creating a virtual logical device. Layer 3 Routing Support
The SGS-6341 series allows administrators to enhance network efficiency by manually configuring static Layer 3 routing, while RIP or OSPF settings are configured automatically. RIP uses hop count as a routing metric and prevents routing loops by limiting the number of allowed hops from source to destination. OSPF is an internal dynamic link-state routing protocol for autonomous systems, creating a link-state database by exchanging link states among Layer 3 switches and then using the shortest path algorithm to generate routing tables.
Full IPv6 Support
The SGS-6341 series provides IPv6 management and enterprise-level security features such as SSH, ACL, WRR, and RADIUS authentication. This helps enterprises transition to IPv6 with minimal investment. Moreover, there is no need to replace network devices when building IPv6 FTTx edge networks.

The SGS-6341 series supports essential switch management functions including port speed configuration, port aggregation, VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol, WRR, bandwidth control, and IGMP snooping. It offers VLAN features with 802.1Q tagging, Q-in-Q, voice VLAN, and GVRP protocol. With port aggregation support, the SGS-6341 series enables fast trunking across multiple ports, supporting up to 128 trunk groups with a maximum of 8 ports per group.

Different policies can be applied to traffic forwarding. The series also supports IEEE 802.1x port-based access authentication deployable with RADIUS to secure ports and block unauthorized users.

For effective management, the SGS-6341 managed gigabit switches feature console, Web, and SNMP management interfaces. The built-in web-based management interface offers user-friendly, platform-independent management and configuration. The SGS-6341 series supports standard SNMP protocol and can be managed with any standard network management software.
To reduce product learning time, the SGS-6341 series provides Cisco-like commands via Telnet or console port, so clients do not need to learn new commands. Additionally, it supports secure remote management with SSH connections that encrypt session data.
