The first model capable of creating a volume on Synology M.2 SSDs to enjoy faster performance than traditional SATA HDD and SSD drives. M.2 volume creation is supported ONLY on Synology M.2 SSDs; SSDs from other manufacturers do not support this feature. This is an exclusive feature for Synology M.2 SSDs. Synology M.2 SSDs have undergone extensive QA testing for heat dissipation and engineering team tuning (e.g., fan speed control and SSD throttling mechanisms) to ensure optimal thermal management during continuous sequential read/write operations, which cannot be managed by SSDs from other manufacturers.
