Always stay online and prevent data loss
When a power outage occurs, APC Smart-UPS immediately delivers backup power to all connected devices. Because the APC UPS does this automatically, you prevent unwanted downtime, for example for a PC, server or switch. With the free APC PowerChute software you can even automatically and remotely shut down critical IT equipment when the UPS battery is almost depleted. This helps prevent data loss, downtime and hardware damage.
Safety
Additionally, Smart-UPS protects connected devices from voltage surges caused by lightning, among other things. This backup power supply is ideally suited for (small) business use.
SmartConnect
Out-of-the-box remote UPS monitoring, free for a 6-month trial. Using the Ethernet SmartConnect port, you can easily connect the Smart-UPS to your network and monitor it remotely via the cloud-based APC SmartConnect portal*. In addition, the UPS can always be monitored through this port via EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI).

PowerChute
By connecting the UPS via USB cable to at most one server, it can automatically issue a shutdown signal during extended power outages, thereby preventing a hard shutdown. This precise moment can be configured using the free APC PowerChute Serial Edition software.
Network Management Card
If you connect the UPS directly to your network using the optional APC Network Management Card (AP9640/AP9641), you can easily manage it remotely via SNMP or our remote management software EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI). You can also automatically issue a shutdown signal to multiple physical and/or virtual servers over the network. With the APC PowerChute Network Shutdown software, which comes with the network card, it is even possible to differentiate the shutdown moment and the order of this process.
Ease of use
Using the physical buttons and LCD display you can set and read basic functions. With the included 4-post rail kit, you can easily mount the UPS in a rack.
Life extension
The internal battery cartridge (APCRBC132) can be easily, safely and independently replaced by the user. This can be done without powering down the APC SMT1000RMI2UC or the connected equipment. This makes it easy and cost-effective to extend the life of the APC Smart-UPS, while your equipment stays online.
Warranty extension
The SMT1000RMI2UC factory warranty is 3 years, except the battery cartridge, which has a factory warranty of 2 years. Both warranty periods are extended by 3 years to 6 and 5 years respectively with the APC service package (WBEXTWAR3YR-SP-03).
Switched outlet groups: Remote reboot and staggered start
With switched outlet groups you can configure staggered/delayed power-on for each UPS outlet group. This reduces peak UPS loading and brings it closer to a constant load, which can help limit UPS oversizing.
It is also possible to reset a group of multiple UPS outlets and the equipment connected to them. If you use SmartConnect Advanced (ERWPLUS1-1Y-DIGI), a UPS with a SmartConnect port + EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI) or a network card (AP9640) in combination with EcoStruxure IT Expert (SFTWES1-DIGI), you can even do this remotely.
This APC Smart-UPS is designed for IT professionals or network administrators to maintain business continuity and uptime. The 1000 VA line-interactive 2U UPS delivers a clean sine wave to support critical electronics during power disturbances. It features IEC 320 C14 input, 4x IEC 320 C13 outlets and 2x IEC jumper cables. It offers cloud-based power monitoring, UPS software updates, remote diagnostics and proactive email notifications with recommended actions. It has a SmartSlot for an optional Network Management Card, enabling controlled shutdown of physical servers, virtual machines and HCI clusters via PowerChute Network Shutdown. The UPS can be connected to EcoStruxure IT or third-party management platforms. It provides protection from voltage surges, sags, brownouts and overvoltage. The SMT UPS carries a 3-year warranty, and the built-in lead-acid battery carries a 2-year warranty.
