FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Validation (Pending)
Meets U.S. government standards for information technology and computer security. The NIST FIPS 140 program is a cryptographic standard required by the U.S. federal government to protect sensitive data.
The FIPS 140-2 validation for Aegis Secure Key covers 11 areas of its cryptographic security system, including physical security, cryptographic key management, and design integrity. Available in four levels, the Level 3 certification includes tamper-resistant physical features and identity-based authentication.
Military-Grade AES 256-bit XTS Hardware Encryption
All data on the Aegis Secure Key is encrypted on-the-fly using built-in AES 256-bit XTS hardware encryption.
Integrated Alphanumeric Keypad – Prevents Hardware and Software Keylogging
Powered by an internal battery, the Aegis Secure Key allows users to unlock the drive with a 7-16 digit PIN before connecting to a USB port on a computer, tablet, or mobile device. The built-in keypad prevents attempts to capture keystrokes via hardware or software keyloggers on the host system.
Software-Free Design – Easy Implementation Without Administrator Rights
Separate User and Administrator PINs
Configurable with independent user and administrator PINs, ideal for corporate and government deployments. If a user forgets their PIN, the administrator PIN can unlock the drive, delete the forgotten user PIN, and allow the user to set a new PIN.
Drive Reset Function
Includes a reset feature that clears both user and administrator PINs, destroys data, generates a new random encryption key, and allows the drive to be reused. The Aegis Secure Key can generate an unlimited number of random encryption keys, enabling frequent resets as needed.
Durable Aluminum Housing with Dust and Water Resistance - IP58 Certification Pending
Data protection extends beyond encryption. Built tough for travel and field use, the shock-resistant design and crush-proof aluminum housing make the Aegis Secure Key 3.0 tamper-resistant and well-protected against physical damage.
The IP (Ingress Protection) rating is an international standard testing electrical products against dust and liquids. Independent third-party testing includes an 8-hour dust chamber exposure and 30-minute submersion at 1 meter depth, followed by functionality and electronics inspection.
Epoxy-Sealed Against Physical Attacks
Internal components are fully protected by a super-durable epoxy compound, making removal virtually impossible without causing permanent damage to the electronics. This barrier prevents attackers from accessing the encryption chip and launching potential attacks.
Automatic Self-Destruct on Brute Force Attacks
Unlocked via its own keypad rather than the host keyboard, the drive is immune to software/hardware keyloggers and brute force attacks. Additionally, a programmable defense mechanism destroys the encryption key and erases all data after 20 consecutive incorrect PIN attempts.
Auto-Lock on Removal or Inactivity
Automatically locks when disconnected from the USB port, when USB power is removed, or after a preset period of inactivity.
Wear-Resistant Keypad
Designed to conceal frequently used keys, the entire Aegis Secure Drive family features wear-resistant keypads to avoid drawing attention to commonly pressed keys.
Override Lock Mode
Intended for specific scenarios where the drive must remain unlocked during USB port re-enumeration, such as during reboot or virtual machine transitions.
