Due to limited space in data centers and rising maintenance costs, network administrators are seeking solutions now more than ever that reduce both costs and space requirements. ATEN KVM switches offer a space-saving, streamlined approach to KVM switching by integrating an LCD panel, a full keyboard and a touchpad in a 1U rack-mount sliding enclosure.
The CL1308 KVM Switch features an integrated 19-inch LCD panel backlit by LEDs, enabling access and control of up to 8 computers from a single console (keyboard, mouse, and monitor). It can be cascaded to 8 additional switches, enabling a total of 128 computers to be controlled from a single keyboard-monitor-mouse set.
Setup is quick and easy; simply connect the cables to the appropriate ports. The switch supports both USB and PS/2 connections for computers. The CL1308 captures keyboard input directly, thereby eliminating the need for any software configuration. Switching between computers can be easily performed by pressing the front panel button, using the port LEDs, entering keyboard shortcut combinations, or via the multilingual On Screen Display (OSD) menu.
