Vandal-Resistant to Withstand Harsh Conditions
The AXIS T98A-VE series polycarbonate surveillance cabinets feature an IP66 rating, providing protection against dust ingress and powerful water jets from all directions. The NEMA 4X rating safeguards against windblown dust, salt spray, rain, hose-directed water, and damage from external ice formation. Additionally, the IK10-rated material protects against impacts and vandalism. The cabinets support vibration ratings of 4M4 and 4M3 (AXIS T98A18-VE).
Step-by-Step Installation
The modular design of the AXIS T98A-VE series allows different installer categories to complete their tasks in separate phases, optimizing workflow.
- First, the installer mounts the AXIS T98A-VE mounting plate with cable protection.
- Second, a certified electrician installs the mains power components and covers them with the power cover.
- Third, the installer completes the installation of low-voltage units.
Ease of Installation
AXIS T98A-VE offers several features to simplify installation for installers. With optional mounting brackets, the AXIS T98A-VE mounting plate can be installed on walls, poles, or building corners.
The polycarbonate cabinet base is extremely lightweight and can be easily carried with one hand. The cabinet door can be hinged on the left or right side using removable hinge pins. Additionally, the hinges include a lock that holds the door at a 105° angle to prevent it from hitting the installer.
A DIN rail is factory-mounted for easy installation of units using DIN rail clips. An embossed DIN rail is also designed inside the right side of the cabinet base. The cabinet base can be hung on hooks of the mounted plate while cables are routed and connected. In the second step, the cabinet base is slid and secured to the mounting plate with screws.
Separate Compartments for Enhanced Safety
To improve installation and cost efficiency, the internal compartment with the DIN rail can be divided into two sections: one for mains power units and another for low-voltage units that do not require certified electrician installation. An optional electrical safety kit is available, including surge protection, a fuse, and a door alarm switch to detect cabinet tampering or damage.
