New version of our popular RB5009 router for specialized tasks with PoE-in and PoE-out on all ports. Ideal for small and medium ISPs. 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet & 10 Gigabit SFP+, numerous power options.

Everything comes down to power...
This version of RB5009 includes all the features of the previous model: Gigabit Ethernet, 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet, and a 10 Gigabit SFP+ cage for fiber connectivity. It offers speed, power and durability. But this time we added PoE-in & PoE-out on all eight Ethernet ports. In combination with the 2-pin connector and DC jack, you have 10 distinct power sources. Redundant dual power supplies typically raise reliability to a new level. RB5009UPr+S+IN takes a step further!
All power options support a wide voltage range from 24 to 57 V. However, voltages must not be mixed. If you use PoE-out to power other devices, the board will select the source with the highest voltage (DC jack or the 2-pin connector) to power those devices.
Each PoE-out port can deliver up to 25W. All ports together are limited to 130W, which should be enough for most configurations. You can manually specify the maximum available power from the power sources if needed. When it comes to PoE-out features, the new RB5009 can compete with our legendary PoE switches: CRS354 & CRS328. In the smallest possible form factor and at the best market price!
Protect your uptime, protect your peace of mind!
So what exactly happens if one of your power sources fails? Here is a quick example: you have 24V on the DC jack, 48V on the 2-pin connector, and 57V on PoE-in. The board itself is powered by the highest voltage - PoE-in. If a fault occurs, RB5009 will switch to the second highest voltage - the 2-pin connector. And if that fails - the available option is 24V on the DC jack.
And what about PoE-out devices? Once again - the highest voltage wins. PoE-out devices will draw power from the 48V source on the 2-pin connector. If that fails - the 24V on the DC jack comes into play. The board always reserves 20 watts for its own power. If there is not enough power for all PoE-out ports, it will start deactivating those with the lowest priority. You can manually set port priorities.
This compact form factor will work anywhere: from restricted research sites and offices to large corporate data centers. And remember, you can mount FOUR of these routers in one 1U space in a rack cabinet.
With the new RB5009 we aim to support all small and medium ISPs who are always looking for the most cost-effective and robust solutions. It is an excellent complement to our GPEN devices – a product line designed to replace expensive GPON solutions.
Thanks to so many power options and a sturdy metal enclosure, the new RB5009 redefines affordable reliability.
