The UPOE-1600G is a high-density, rack-mount managed hub that provides PLANET PoE intelligence via a Web UI for remote management. It features 16 Ethernet 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with Ultra PoE injection and a total PoE budget of 600 W. Each PoE port can deliver up to 60 W over Cat.5/5e/6 UTP cables, enabling simultaneous data and power transmission to a remote powered device (PD) up to 60 W and powered by 802.3at/af. The UPOE-1600G enables centralized power delivery and optimizes installation and management of power for remote network devices, offering fast, secure and cost-effective PoE for small businesses and enterprises.

Fast and easy PoE network installation
The UPOE-1600G sits between a standard Ethernet switch and the PD. The front panel provides a total of 32 RJ45 STP ports, with 16 ports on the lower layer acting as Data In and the remaining 16 ports on the upper layer acting as PoE Output (Data and Power). Both power and data are transmitted simultaneously over UTP cables to the PD without impacting the existing network operation.
With data and power over Ethernet from a single device, the UPOE-1600G can reduce the need for power cabling and eliminate the need for dedicated power outlets on walls, ceilings or other hard-to-reach locations.
Ready for 802.3bt – 60 Watts Power over 4-Pair UTP
The Ultra PoE solution UPOE-1600G adopts the IEEE 802.3at/af PoE standard. Rather than delivering power via a 2-pair twisted UTP — whether end-span (Pins 1, 2, 3 and 6) or mid-span (Pins 4, 5, 7 and 8) — it provides up to 60 W using all four standard Cat.5e/6 cables. In the new 4-pair system, the UPOE-1600G can deliver up to 60 W per port to every PoE PD. It offers double the power delivery capacity compared with conventional PoE 802.3at and is ideal for growing PD devices that require more power, such as:
- PoE PTZ camera
- Any network device needing higher PoE power for normal operation
- Thin-client
- All-in-One PC (AIO), POS and digital signage kiosks
- Remote digital signage display

Web management interface
To effectively manage powered devices, the UPOE-1600G provides a simple Web management interface where admins can control the system and PoE functions for powered devices. It can automatically detect the power status of each port and show alerts in the network management interface. These features also provide a cost-effective way to manage the device over the Internet, whether at work or at home.

Intelligent PD status monitoring
PLANET PoE managed products embrace not only Power over Ethernet technology but also automated PD monitoring and real-time PoE status. The UPOE-1600G can be configured to monitor the status of connected PDs in real time via a ping action through an uplink Ethernet switch. If a PD stops functioning or stops replying, the UPOE-1600G will reset the PoE power to the port and restore PD operation. This significantly increases network reliability as the PoE port resets PD power, reducing administrative overhead.

PoE Scheduling for energy savings
In line with global energy savings trends, the UPOE-1600G can control PoE power delivery in addition to its high-power capability. The built-in “PoE Schedule” lets you turn PoE on or off for each PoE port at defined intervals, helping small and medium businesses save energy and money, and increasing security by disabling PDs not in use during off hours.

Advanced PoE power output modes
To meet the needs of different powered devices, the UPOE-1600G offers three PoE output modes to choose from:
- 60W UPOE PoE Power Output Mode (Pins 1,2,3,6 + Pins 4,5,7,8)
- 30W PoE Power Output End-span Mode (Pins 1,2,3,6)
- 30W PoE Power Output Mid-span Mode (Pins 4,5,7,8)

Power management
To simplify power management, the UPOE-1600G includes robust PoE management features such as thermal protection, consumption alerts and automatic power allocation to prevent budget overload. The PoE budget can be allocated by priority or class, with event logs generated when consumption crosses a threshold.

With PoE outputs for IEEE 802.3af/802.3at, the UPOE-1600G can extend distances using PLANET PoE extenders to power PDs installed beyond 100 m. Linking multiple PLANET extenders provides flexible doubling/tripling/quadrupling of PoE reach.

Quiet operation with smart fan design
Low noise and efficient cooling, with smart fan control automatically adjusting the built-in fan speed for silent operation while maintaining optimal power delivery. The UPOE-1600G runs reliably and quietly in any environment.

Gigabit Ultra PoE and PoE+ networking
The UPOE-1600G makes powering Ethernet devices a breeze, such as a ceiling IP camera or rooftop wireless AP. With 16 Gigabit Ethernet ports, it supports full 52V DC power for any PoE PD up to 60 W and IEEE 802.3af/at devices.
To control your power system, the UPOE-1600G can work directly with PoE devices such as IP phones to build a VoIP network in the office. The Ultra PoE Hub can connect to any IEEE 802.3af/at device up to 100 m away. Beyond that, PLANET PoE extenders can extend reach further.
