Industrial-grade Managed Media Converter for harsh environments
PLANET IGT-900-2T2S, a fully managed Gigabit media converter for demanding environments, features two copper ports 10/100/1000Mbps, two SFP ports 100/1000/2500X, and a redundant power supply in an IP30-rated enclosure that is rugged yet compact. IGT-900-2T2S can be installed in any tough environment, as it operates stably in a temperature range of -40 to 75°C. Thanks to its compact enclosure, it does not require a lot of space for installation. The switch offers user-friendly yet advanced management interfaces for IPv6/IPv4, numerous Layer 2/Layer 4 switching features, and static Layer 3 routing capabilities. With fiber SFP ports, it can be flexibly used to extend link distances.
Enhanced Intelligent Management Features
The IGT-900 series provides automatic MDI/MDI-X on its TP port and a built-in Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) function. The LFP function includes Link Loss Carry Forward (LLCF) and Link Loss Return (LLR), which immediately alert administrators to a link-media issue and provide an effective solution for monitoring the network.
- LLCF means that when the device connected to the converter and the TP line lose connectivity, the converter fiber port disconnects the transmission link.
- LLR means that when the device connected to the converter and the fiber line lose connectivity, the converter fiber port disconnects the transmission link.
As a result, the IGT-900-2T2S significantly assists administrators in managing the network efficiently.
Port Redundancy Mode
Using the managed interface, the IGT-900-2T2S can be configured in Port Redundancy mode. In Port Redundancy mode, it provides fast copper/fiber link redundancy for critical Ethernet applications. The Port Redundancy mode also supports automatic recovery. If the destination port of a packet is unavailable, it will be forwarded to the alternate port in the redundant pair.

It supports SSHv2, TLSv1.2, and SNMPv3 to provide strong protection against advanced threats. It serves as a critical data path to connect to customer equipment in business networks, and the cybersecurity features of the IGT-900 series protect management and strengthen the security of mission-critical networks without additional costs and deployment effort.
Redundant Ring, Fast Recovery for Critical Network Applications
The IGT-900 series supports redundant ring technology and features a strong, fast self-recovery mechanism to prevent outages and external intrusions. It includes ITU-T G.8032 ERPS (Ethernet Ring Protection Switching), Spanning Tree Protocol (802.1s MSTP), and a redundant power supply in the customer’s industrial automation network to increase system reliability and availability in harsh factory environments. In a simple network ring, data-link recovery time can be as fast as 10 ms.
SMTP/SNMP Event Alerts
The IGT-900 series provides an event alert feature to help diagnose malfunctioning devices resulting from a network outage or reboot responses.

The IGT-900 series supports an error alarm function that can alert users when a switch problem occurs. With this feature, users won’t have to spend time locating the issue, helping save time and human resources.
Solid Layer 2 Features
The IGT-900 series can be configured for advanced Layer 2 switching management features such as dynamic port trunking, 802.1Q tagged VLAN, Q-in-Q VLAN, Private VLAN, MSTP, QoS from Layer 2 to Layer 4, bandwidth control, IGMP snooping and MLD snooping. With port aggregation support, the IGT-900 series enables a high-speed trunk group that supports multiple ports and also supports failover.
Efficient Management
For efficient management, the IGT-900 series is equipped with CLI, Web GUI and SNMP management interfaces.
- With the built-in Web-based management interface, it offers easy-to-use, platform-independent management and configuration capabilities.
- For text-based management, it can be accessed via Telnet/SSH.
- For standards-based monitoring and management software, it provides SNMPv3, which encrypts packet contents in every session for secure remote management.
Powerful Network Security
The IGT-900 series offers a comprehensive Access Control List (ACL) from Layer 2 to Layer 4 to enforce edge security. It can be used to restrict network access by dropping packets based on source/destination IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports or defined network applications. Its protection mechanism also includes port-based user and device authentication based on 802.1X and MAC. The Private VLAN feature can prevent communication between edge ports to ensure user privacy.
Advanced IP Network Security
The IGT-900 series also provides DHCP Snooping, IP Source Guard and Dynamic ARP Inspection to prevent IP spoofing attacks and drop ARP packets with incorrect MAC addresses. Network administrators can now build highly secure corporate networks with considerably less time and effort than before.
Intelligent SFP Diagnostics
The IGT-900 series supports SFP DDM (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring), which greatly helps network administrators monitor real-time SFP transceiver parameters such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage.
IEEE 1588 Time Protocol for Industrial Computer Networks
The IGT-900 series is ideal for telecom and Carrier Ethernet applications, supporting MEF service provisioning and synchronization via packet-based solutions for IEEE 1588 and synchronous Ethernet.
Modbus TCP Provides Flexible Network Connectivity for Factory Automation
With Modbus TCP/IP support, the IGT-900 series can easily integrate with SCADA systems, HMI systems, and other factory floor data collection systems.
