Designed for installation in demanding industrial conditions, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S is a new member of PLANET's industrial-grade family of DIN-rail L2/L4 managed Gigabit PoE+ switches, equipped with PLANET PoE intelligent management features to improve the availability of critical business applications. It offers dual IPv6/IPv4 stack management and a built-in L2/L4 Gigabit switching engine, as well as 8 x 10/100/1000BASE-T ports with 30W 802.3at PoE+, 2 additional copper Gigabit ports and 2 additional 100/1000BASE-X SFP slots for data and video uplinks. The IGS-4215-8P2T2S is capable of operating reliably, stably and quietly in any enhanced environment, without impacting its performance. It provides a total PoE power budget of up to 240 watts for various PoE applications and an operating temperature range from -40 to 75 degrees C in a rugged IP30 metal enclosure.

Intelligent power status check of powered devices
IGS-4215-8P2T2S can be configured to monitor the status of the connected PD (Powered Device) in real time via a ping action. When the PD stops operating and responding, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S will resume PoE port power and restore the PD to operation. This will greatly increase network reliability by resetting the PD power source through the PoE port and reducing management load for the administrator.
Scheduled Power Cycling
IGS-4215-8P2T2S enables each connected PoE IP cameras or PoE access points to be rebooted at a specified time each week. This helps prevent IP camera or AP failure due to buffer overflows.
PoE Schedule for Energy Saving
In light of the global trend toward energy saving and environmental protection, IGS-4215-8P2T2S can effectively control power, in addition to its ability to deliver high power. The “PoE Schedule” feature helps turn on or off PoE power for each PoE port in specified time intervals, a powerful tool enabling SMBs or enterprises to save energy and budget. It also enhances security by turning off PDs that should not be used outside working hours.
Intelligent LED Indicator for Real-Time PoE Power Consumption Monitoring
By the power consumption chart in the web management interface, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S allows administrators to monitor the real-time power usage status of connected PDs. This greatly reduces the workload of infrastructure management. Moreover, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S helps users easily and efficiently monitor the current PoE power usage status with an advanced LED indicator. Referred to as “PoE Power Consumption,” the front panel of the IGS-4215-8P2T2S features four orange LEDs indicating four different PoE power consumption levels: 60W, 120W, 180W and 240W.
Designed for Harsh Conditions
Thanks to an industrial aluminum IP30 enclosure, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S provides high resistance to electromagnetic interference and voltage transients that can be encountered in manufacturing halls or traffic control cabinets without cooling. Operating from -40 to 75°C, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S can be placed virtually anywhere in harsh environments.
Robust Protection
The IGS-4215-8P2T2S provides contact discharge ±6 kV DC and air discharge ±8 kV DC for Ethernet ESD protection. It also supports surge protection ±4 kV to improve product stability and protect user networks from destructive ESD attacks, ensuring operation does not waver.

Supporting both IPv6 and IPv4 protocols, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S helps SMBs enter the IPv6 era with minimal investment, as their network infrastructure does not require replacement or overhaul when an IPv6 edge network is built for FTTx.

IGS-4215-8P2T2S can be programmed for advanced switch management features such as dynamic port aggregation, 802.1Q VLAN, Q‑in‑Q VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), loop protection and BPDU, IGMP snooping and MLD snooping. Thanks to link aggregation, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S enables fast trunk operation by bundling multiple ports, such as an 8 Gbps fat pipe, and also supports redundant switching. The Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) is a Layer 2 protocol that helps discover basic information about neighboring devices in the local broadcast domain.

With the built-in Web-based management interface, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S provides an easy-to-use, platform-independent management and configuration tool. Supporting the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), the IGS-4215-8P2T2S can be managed by any standard network management software. For textual management, you can access the IGS-4215-8P2T2S via Telnet and the local console port. Moreover, the IGS-4215-8P2T2S offers secure remote management, supporting SSH, SSL and SNMPv3, which encrypts packet content in every session.

PLANET IGS-4215-8P2T2S provides a comprehensive ACL (Access Control List) from Layer 2 to Layer 4 IPv4/IPv6 to enforce edge security. It can be used to restrict network access by dropping packets based on source/destination IP addresses, TCP/UDP ports or specific common network applications. Its protection mechanism also includes user and device authentication based on 802.1X ports, which can be deployed with RADIUS to provide port-based security and block unauthorized users. The Secure Port feature blocks inter-port communications on boundary ports to ensure user privacy. In addition, the Port Security feature allows restricting the number of network devices on a given port.

IGS-4215-8P2T2S provides 2 additional Gigabit TP copper interfaces supporting 10/100/1000BASE-T RJ45 to connect to surveillance devices such as NVRs, video streaming servers or NAS to ease surveillance management. Through two dual-speed SFP slots, it can also connect to fiber transceivers for 100BASE-FX /1000BASE-SX/LX to uplink to the main switch and the monitoring hub over long distances. Distances can be extended from 550 meters to 2 kilometers (multimode fiber) and 10/20/30/40/50/60/70/120 kilometers (single-mode fiber or WDM fiber). Perfect for use in enterprise data centers and distribution centers.
Intelligent SFP Diagnostics
IGS-4215-8P2T2S supports SFP-DDM (Digital Diagnostic Monitor) which can easily monitor real-time SFP parameters for the network administrator, such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current and transceiver supply voltage.
